These recommendations build on the EFPA Meta-Code of Ethics. The Meta-Code provides guidance on the content of Member Associations’ codes of ethics. The Meta-Code therefore supports Member Associations, and ultimately psychologists, through its guidance on systems and procedures to promote ethical professional behaviour. The Member Associations have the responsibility for national ethical codes which are in line with the Meta-Code. As well as supporting ethical professional practice national codes of ethics provide the basis for evaluative procedures and reference points to evaluate the conduct of individual psychologists.
