As part of the European Semester Events series, the Society is delighted to present its final event in the PSI Free Public Lecture Series 2026.
Event Information
This presentation will focus on some key historical factors relating to climate change. It will look at aspects of W. B. Yeats’s and C. G. Jung’s work relating to the ancient notion of the Anima Mundi, and material by cultural historians Morris Berman and Richard Tarnas, climate scientist James Lovelock, eco-psychotherapist Mary-Jayne Rust, and other writers. It will also suggest that a major cause of climate change is an historical disconnection of many modern humans from the natural world, and that a holistic science is needed that recognises that human beings are part of nature.
