Project 14: Supervised Practice: Supporting the Development of Supervision Standards and Supervisor Competences Across Europe

EFPA Purpose contribution

Background and main issues to be addressed

To support the implementation and strengthening of supervised practice across Europe. Whilst the EuroPsy Regulations provide an established framework for supervised practice, European countries differ considerably in their approaches to supervision, supervisor training, and related guidance.

The project will collect, review, and share existing national standards, practices, training programmes, guidance documents, and examples of good practice from EFPA Full Members (FMs).

Subject to the outcomes of this project, a following phase may focus on developing practical resources, including guidance on supervisor competences, training materials, and tools to support implementation.

These resources will support Full Members (FMs) and National EuroPsy Committees (NECs) in strengthening supervised practice within their national systems.

Specific Objectives

  1. Create a knowledge bank of supervision standards, guidance documents and related resources collected from EFPA Full Members and National EuroPsy Committees that currently have established systems for supervised practice.
  2. Collect examples of supervisor training programmes currently used across Europe that support the implementation of supervised practice, including programme content, learning outcomes, assessment methods, and implementation approaches.

Planned Activities
