This event is a collaboration between WHO/Europe, WHO Headquarters, and the Government of Ireland in partnership with MedTech Ireland. It builds on Ireland’s Global Award with WHO and brings together three interconnected priorities – health workforce optimization [including leveraging digital technology], assistive technology and with disability inclusion as a shared foundation. These themes are mutually reinforcing and central to strengthening health systems and advancing WHO’s strategic agenda.
Opportunity from a health and care workforce perspective:
From a workforce perspective, the Expo will highlight practical approaches to service redesign, skills‑mix innovation, and leveraging digital technology that apply across diverse health system contexts, including LMICs. It will highlight how these optimization levers can ease pressure on staff and strengthen care pathways in both resource‑rich and resource‑constrained settings. During the Expo, we will launch a major report showcasing country case studies and the latest international evidence, illustrating how different health systems are advancing optimization policies and initiatives through innovative, context‑specific approaches.
