EFPA warmly welcomes the recent Council conclusions on children’s mental health and well‑being. We particularly appreciate the recognition of mental health as a fundamental component of overall child well‑being and the emphasis on integrated policies that bridge health, education, social, and digital domains.
We strongly support the focus on vulnerable children, who often face significant barriers to accessing essential services. Providing targeted support—particularly within community‑based and educational settings—is essential to ensure they have equitable opportunities for healthy development and full social inclusion.
EFPA also welcomes the Council’s attention to the digital environment, including measures to promote safer, age‑appropriate online spaces, foster digital and media literacy, and empower children, caregivers, and educators to build resilience against online risks. We see this as a vital step in protecting and promoting mental health in an increasingly digital world.
Finally, EFPA commends the Council for promoting a preventive and multidisciplinary approach, highlighting early intervention, resilience-building, and cross-sector collaboration. We look forward to working with EU institutions, member associations, and other stakeholders to translate these conclusions into effective action that benefits children across Europe.
