EFPA Contributes to EU Health Crisis Preparedness

EFPA has submitted its input to the European Commission’s call for evidence on the “Union prevention, preparedness and response plan for health crises.”

In its response, EFPA underscores the essential role of psychologists in all phases of crisis management—from prevention and emergency response to long-term recovery. The Federation advocates for the integration of mental health and psychological support services into national and EU emergency frameworks, ensuring evidence-based, culturally sensitive, and ethically sound care during crises.

EFPA also calls for the systematic engagement of qualified psychologists in multidisciplinary teams and the standardisation of specialised training in crisis, trauma, and emergency psychology.
