April 2026, Geneva—The European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations (EFPA) will participate in the Digital World Conference 2026 taking place in the United Nations Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.
The event, co-organised by the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD) and the World Digital Technology Academy (WDTA), is a global platform for dialogue and cooperation. It brings together governments, industry, academia, investors, and civil society to translate the United Nations’ Pact for the Future and Global Digital Compact into actionable and sustainable forms of global collaboration.
EFPA’s participation will focus on AI for Social Protection. The panel on this topic examines how AI and other digital technologies can be governed and applied within social protection systems to uphold social rights and reduce vulnerability, with a primary focus on healthcare as a core pillar of social protection.
This participation is part of the Federation’s focus on digitalisation and its impact on wellbeing as a policy priority. In 2025 representatives from throughout EFPA’s membership developed 6 digitalisation priorities: Co-Production of Regulation; People-Centred Development; Transparent & Controllable; Digital Literacy & Accessibility; Navigable Digital Determinants; Enhance, Not Replace.
Work now focuses on implementing these principles at the levels of policy, research and practice, and encouraging the broader societal collaboration required to support that being achieved. This requires close collaboration between national and European levels, and positioning within international governance frameworks such as the United Nations system.
