The European Parliament approved the establishment of a dedicated Intergroup on Mental Health,
In a move to prioritise mental health at the heart of European policy-making, EFPA, GAMIAN-Europe and MHE called in their Manifests on Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) to champion the establishment of a European Parliament Intergroup on Mental Health.
This group has been approved last 18th December.
This initiative aims to make mental health a key priority in EU policymaking.
The proposed Mental Health Intergroup seeks to bring together MEPs from across political groups and EU member states, all committed to promoting mental health as a critical public health issue. The intergroup would serve as a platform for advocating mental health across various sectors and for pushing legislative efforts that promote mental health awareness, investment, and support services throughout Europe.
It will be the first time that MH will be a focused topic for an EP intergroup.
Its members will be published here soon.
We will keep you posted on next steps.
