If you are a family carer of a relative with a mental illness ...

5 Aug 2014

If you are a family carer of a relative with a mental illness, then we would welcome your participation in this important survey.

EUFAMI (European Federation of Associations of Families of People with Mental Illness) is pleased to announce the launch of a major survey, in conjunction with Lucas, the research arm of the University of Leuven. The purpose of this important survey is to gather information and data from family members across Europe about their own circumstances and needs in respect to their role as carers of relatives affected by mental health problems.

Why are we doing this?

There is already a clear and general recognition that carers’ needs are closely linked with the needs of the person they care for, but this survey has been designed specifically to find out about the circumstances and needs of carers themselves. All results will be analysed so that a clearer picture of the needs of carers of persons with mental health problems can be identified. EUFAMI believes that the findings and results, which will published in the second half of 2014, should be of considerable benefit to many organisations and also for EUFAMI’s member associations - for example when priorities are being set for future actions required to support these carers and also when organisations are planning to engage with their local policy makers and politicians.

If you are a family carer of a relative with a mental illness, then we would welcome your participation in this important survey.
