The theme of World Mental Health Day in 2013 is ‘Mental health and older adults’.

News - EFPA supports World Mental Health Day : October 10, 2013

Every year on 10th of October, the World Health Organization WHO joins in celebrating the World Mental Health Day.

The day is celebrated at the initiative of the World Federation of Mental Health and WHO supports this initiative through raising awareness on mental health issues using its strong relationships with the Ministries of health and civil society organizations across the globe. WHO also develops technical and communication material and provides technical assistance to the countries for advocacy campaigns around the World Mental Health Day.

The theme of World Mental Health Day in 2013 is ‘Mental health and older adults’.

This important issue will also be discussed at the upcoming EU Presidency conference ‘Mental Health : Challenges and Possibilities’ tomorrow on October 10-11, 2013 in Vilnius, Lithuania where EFPA will be present with two representatives (Robertas Povilaitis and Bernard Caruana).

EFPA has been involved in the organization of this conference and is member of the Scientific Committee of the Lithuanian Presidency Conference.

The conference will bring together main players in European and national levels like policy makers, NGOs, various professional organizations, users and family organizations etc..  and is the MAIN event in Europe related to mental health during this half of the year.
