Comenius Early Career Psychologist award 2009 awarded to Dr. Katie E. Slocombe from University of York/UK

The Comenius Early Career Psychologist Award 2009 has been awarded to Dr. Katie Elizabeth Slocombe from the Department Psychology at the University of York/UK during the Opening Ceremony of the 11th European Congress of Psychology on July 7, 2009 in Oslo.

The award has been handed over by EFPA President Roal Ulrichsen and Vice President of the Union of Psychologists' Associations of the Czech Republic UPA, Dr. Miloslav Solc to the British Psychologist Dr. Katie Slocombe at the Opera House of Oslo.

The Chair of the Comenius Selection Committee Roal Ulrichsen stated that '.. Dr. Slocombe is a young psychologist from Europe whose original contribution to psychological science and profession has been extraordinary and absolutely outstanding. Dr Katie Slocombe published widely in top journals and has published by contributing with excellent chapters in books. Dr Slocombe has been invited as presenter internationally at top level within her area, and she has made a number of presentations at central international scientific foras. It is clear that her research has led to a shift in the landscape of different disciplines...'
